(1/6) So nearly every RE9 rumor I’ve seen over the years has been bullshit. The Native American Wendigo blood moon rumor? Bullshit. Goat Man with Jill in a Hospital? Bullshit.
Andi’s the only person who’s shared stuff which I can corrborate is true, some stuff I’ve been saying https://t.co/sd95wAGhZN

(2/6) for a while now, though a lot of what he’s shared is about an old scrapped version of RE9, which he shared I think 11-12 months ago.
So RE9 originally started development in 2017 (Andi says 2016/2017, but it was in early 2017 after RE7 underperformed at launch to Capcom’s

(3/6) expectations. RE7 went on to have a huge tail in sales, but this was a bit reactionary. And the original version of RE9 was trying to be the opposite of RE7, IE big open world multiplayer game). RE9 originally starred Leon & Jill in a fictional island based off Singapore.

(4/6) Andi never said the setting, but that was where the old scrapped version of RE9 took place. HOWEVER, AGAIN, this is the old RE9, the project got a pretty heavy reboot in 2021 around the time Village came out, though a few things stayed the same like Leon is still the main

(5/6) character. The rest I’ll let Capcom reveal, I’ve decided to be more a tease than a leaker, as I’ve said. But I find scrapped game stuff interesting. Andi also said a few things a few months ago about Zero Remake & Code Veronica Remake I know are true, though again a bit old
— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) May 22, 2025
(6/7) old info (RE:0 went through some big changes like half a year ago), he’s right that a RE1 Remake wasn’t in development as of 2023 (something else I’ve been saying for a while for the RE1 Remake rumors, which are bullshit), etc, etc. So if he says its revealed soon, I

(7/7) believe him. He’s also right that that the Rebecca focused Revelations 3 I talked about back in early 2020s was cancelled in 2022, was originally a Switch game first, etc.
Let Capcom do their own thing to reveal RE9, I just find behind the scene dev stuff interesting.

(1/2) The answer is unfortuntately rather boring. Revelations 3, like Revelations 1 & 2 before it, weren’t primarily made in-house by Capcom. And the results they were getting back just weren’t coming in… well, good. They sucked. Capcom at the time had also taken on dev of RE:4 https://t.co/DoQQf45op4

(2/2) from M-Two, plus RE9 had recently gotten a reboot, so all hands were needed on deck for RE:4 & RE9. So rather than try to salvage Rev 3 themselves, I think they decided to let it go do to the manpower & budget it’d need, decided to focus on RE:4 & RE9 instead.

(1/3) I’ve said Resident Evil 9 is a really ambitious game since 2021 publicly I think. I mean a plethora of things by it.
It started dev in 2017, it’s coming out in 2026. It’ll have been in some form of dev for around 9 years by the time it releases, longest RE dev cycle BY FAR https://t.co/B9ZGBdvtSR
— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) May 23, 2025
(2/3) The game is trying to set a new standard for the series & in some ways reinvent itself, up the alley we’ve seen previously in RE4 & RE7.
Capcom wants RE9 to achieve a very high quality level, be the first mainline non-remake RE game since the OG RE4 to get a 90+ Metacritic
— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) May 23, 2025
(3/3) It has by far the biggest budget of any Resident Evil game to date, it’s trying new stuff & aiming to cram in a lot of varied quality content, push themselves in everything from graphics to audio, etc.
As I’ve been saying since 2021, RE9 is just a really ambitious game.
